Pp. i-viii, 9-312, 14 wood-engraved figures, 7 wood-engraved plates, 1 folding hand-colored lithographed map, 1 folding handcolored plate of sections. Original brown half-leather with black morocco spine label, over original marbled boards, lg 8vo. Inscribed possibly by the author or by someone in the Rhode Island legislature on the front endpaper, additional old signature on the title page. Some annotations in an old hand on the rear endpapers perhaps by the original owner.

Library bookplate of Reading Public Museum on front endpaper, no other library markings, slight edge wear to the original boards, small circular stain on the front endpaper, the text and hand-colored maps are bright and clean; a very good copy.
