Foreword by Thomas Peter Bennett. “A Celebration of Birds is the most comprehensive work to date to examine the essence of the Fuertes genius” (from the jacket flap). Fuertes traveled to Alaska, Texas, Bahamas, Yucatan, Colombia and Abyssinia among other places in search of birds and other wildlife to paint. This volume presents a chronology of his life illustrated with many of his fine watercolors and sketches.
