Pp. iv, 1-412; (1), 413-898; (1), 899-1312. Early 19th century full calf with morocco title label on spine, 8vo (8.5 x 5.25 inches). This is the rare first edition. From the library of Joseph S. Riley with his bookplate on the front endpaper of each volume and his signature at the top of the preface of volume 1 dated March 18, 1825. The full title of the set is: “A Dictionary of the Holy Bible: Containing An Historical Account of the Persons; a Geographical Account of the Places; and Literal, Critical, and Systematical Descriptions of other Objects, whether Natural or Artificial, Civil, Religious, or Military, Mentioned in the Writings of the Old and New Testament, Or in those called Apocrypha.”
