Gregor Mendel discovered the laws of inheritance but his original monograph, published in 1865, went almost entirely unnoticed. Bateson ‘discovered’ Mendel monograph in 1881 and went on to become his foremost champion [see PMM 365(b)]. This is the third impression of the work with additions. This volume was first published in 1909 and was reprinted one month later. This third printing includes additional sources on Mendel published in the three years since the first edition.
