Pp. (vi), 43, (1), 15 full page plates with printed caption leaves - 12 plates are in color. Publisher’s half wine red cloth, gilt-titled on spine, over pale red boards, top edge gilt, folio (10.5 inches x 15 inches). From the library of Paul E. Zillessen with his name stamp on the front endpaper. This is the classic early work on the pheasants of Japan, Korea and Taiwan that was inspired by the publication of William Beebe’s “A Monograph of the Pheasants” in 1918-1922.
