This is the quarterly publication of the Peking Society of Natural History and the Department of Biology, Yenching University succeeding volumes 1 to 4 of the Bulletin of the Peking Society of Natural History. A nearly complete run of this important journal of the natural history of China. Many of the complete volume indexes (8 page supplements) are also present. This run lacks the first four volumes published under a different name, Bulletin of the Peking Society of Natural History, and Volume 6, Part 3 of the current run. The publication was suspended in 1941 when Peking was occupied by the Japanese military. All parts have a single circular stamp of the Connecticut State Museum with the date of acquisition. No other marks appear internally. This set does not appear to have been circulated. A rare collection of a foundational journal on the natural history of eastern Asia.
