Pp. 1386; 590 text-figures (line-drawings and halftones).  One-half brown leather over cream-colored course weave cloth, spine is lettered in gilt with four sets of gilt panel lines, heavy dark brown endpapers, lg 8vo.  This is the classic work on the beetles of Indiana.  As it is such a thorough study, it applies to Coleoptera fauna of the central Mid-West USA.  There is a circular university blind stamp at the bottom of the title page and a blue number at the bottom of page 3 and 699; there are no other library marks or signs of use.  From the research collection of Illinois State University herpetologist Lauren E. Brown with his signature on the front blank endpaper of the first volume.  Rare work seldom offered.
