By Annals of the Transvaal Museum
Pp. 7500+, numerous color plates (in early volumes), black-and-white photo-plates, halftone plates and text-figures. Early red cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine, lg 8vo. Annals of the Transvaal Museum (or Mededelingen van het Transvaal Museum) is a zoology journal published by the Transvaal Museum in Pretoria since 1908. The articles in this journal provide coverage of reptiles, fishes, mammals, entomology (including butterflies and moths), vertebrate paleontology and other natural history topics. Sets of the Annals of the Transvaal Museum are rarely offered. This set lacks volume 1, 2, and 10; otherwise, it is a complete run through volume 21 that was published in 1951. This set is mildly ex-library from the Reading Public Museum with a white call number on the spine; the spine has also been varnished on some volumes to protect the spine information. Some volumes also have the Museum’s bookplate on the front endpaper and an occasional ink museum stamp on the rear endpapers; there are no other internal library marks and few signs of use. Airmail postage is required for shipping to Europe or Africa.
