Pp. viii, 9-378, 1-116 (supplement); 2 frontispiece illustrations of machines, 1 end illustration of a locomotive (all woodcuts).  Original tree calf leather lettered in gilt on the spine and with 6 panel lines in gilt, sm 8vo.  The volume has an attractive original tree calf binding.  Old pencil signature of George J. Huiontfiqoz (sp) dated August 1860 on front free endpaper.  No other ownership marks.
