(ii), 186; chromolithograph frontispiece, 7 chromolithograph plates labeled Plate 1 to VII, 2 wood engravings.  Publisher’s original orange cloth, lettered in black on the spine and front cover, a circular colored onlay mounted on the front cover, rear cover with printed list of 24 titles in Reeve’s Popular Natural Histories series, 12 mo (165 x 125 mm; 6.5 x 5 inches).  The introduction is dated 1859 and the title page is dated 1866.  This is a quaint little book about collecting “rocks” on the seashore.  Small signature of Jas Jack at the top edge of the title page.
