Publisher’s original half gray calf leather, lettered in silver on the spine over gray cloth, color pictorial endpapers of birds flying over a marsh with the sun setting, in the original shipping box as issued by the publisher, large folio (22 x 15.5 inches; 560-395 mm). This volume reproduces the very rare supplement to the Birds of Australia. Parts 4 and 5 of the Supplement were first published in 1867 and 1869 in an edition of no more than 238 copies. This facsimile limited edition reproduces faithfully, without alteration or correction, 24 of the original 32 plates and the accompanying text from the Supplement Parts 4 and 5 held by the family of Captain S. A. White. This fine facsimile was limited to 500 numbered copies, this is no. 430. This volume is number 5 in the Facsimile Limited Edition series reproduced from Samuel White’s personal copy.
