(Part I): 1-60, 14 text-figures (halftones and line-drawings), 17 full page plates (4 in color from paintings and 13 black-and-white photos with tissue guards); pp. (Part II): 135-220, 20 text-figures (halftones and line-drawings), 23 full page plates (4 in color from paintings and 19 black-and-white photos with tissue guards).  Early red cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine and with gilt panel lines, original printed brown wrappers for each part are bound in place, lg 8vo.  From the journal Saetryk af Friesia, volume IV, nos. 1, 2, 3.  Agaricus mushrooms or ‘meadow mushrooms’ are today synonymous with the genus Psalliota.  This volume is from the private research collection of University of Michigan mycologist Alexander H. Smith with his name in gilt at the bottom of the spine.  Both parts are warmly inscribed by the author to Smith at the top outer corner of each front wrapper.  No other ownership marks.
