(xviii), 157; 32 pages of black-and-white photo-plates and half-tones.  Publisher’s original one-quarter brown cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine, over red paper-covered boards, dark yellow original dust jacket that is lettered in black, lg 8vo.  This volume presents a detailed biography of Robert Broom, a paleontologist and physical anthropologist.  The author states that Broom “may well be regarded as the last of the individualists in these sciences.”  Broom is well known for his work on the South African Australopithecus and Paranthropus early humans and on the Karoo Mammal-Like Reptiles.  The preface to the volume is by anatomist Professor Raymond Dart.  This volume is in the series: South African Biographical and Historical Series, no. 16.  A rare biography seldom offered.
