The late Stephen Jay Gould in his book ‘The Panda's Thumb’ (page 22) notes this is “...probably the greatest work of modern evolutionary comparative anatomy and it contains more than anyone would ever want to know about pandas.” The title is neatly printed on the spine. No ownership marks and no signs of use.
