Pp. (4), 68 full page lithographic plates, each with a descriptive page of text, many plates are double-page foldouts.  Publisher’s original dark blue cloth lettered in gilt on the spine, large 4to.  Edward Cope prepared these 12 plates of Permian vertebrates and 56 of Tertiary mammals from fossils he had collected.  Unfortunately, he died before he could write the text to accompany the plates.  These fine lithographs are published here for the first time in 1915.  This volume is also from the research collection of herpetologist Lauren E. Brown with his signature on the front endpaper.
