Publisher’s original full brown raw silk with heavy thread ties along the spine, lettered in gilt on a brown morocco title label on the front cover, all page edges in gilt, decorated endpapers, oblong lg folio (14 1/2 x 20 1/4 inches). This is volume 2 of a set complete in 2 volumes. Volume 2, offered here, is illustrated with 50 full page fine color plates covering starfish, sea anemias, sand-dollars (3 plates), crabs and lobsters (9 plates), octopus (3 plates) numerous mollusks (25 plates), sea cucumber and related (2), jellyfish and other aquatic invertebrates (3) and seaweed and other aquatic plants (5 plates).
