Later one-half tan calf leather, spine with five raised bands with red morocco title lettered in gilt label in one compartment, over attractive marbled boards and with matching marbled endpapers, lg 8vo (8.5 x 5.4 inches; 220 x 140 mm). The first printing of this work was published in 1839; this second printing was issued in 1845. The second printing was the final one that was published privately by the author. A later edition was issued in 1854 but that edition was edited by edited by J. O. Westwood and published by G. Willis, London-based publisher. This second printing contains a one-page errata sheet and a four-page list of subscribers; both follow the preface. No ownership marks. See also Nissen ZBI, 4458.
