Insectivorous Plants (second edition)

Pp. xiv, 377, 30 text woodcuts.  Publisher’s original forest green cloth with spine lettered in gilt and with ornate gilt decorations at the top and bottom of the spine, the front and rear cloth-covered boards have blind-stamped border decorations, brown clay-coated endpapers, 8vo.  This is Freeman 1227 which was revised by Francis Darwin.  This edition includes material from Francis Darwin's own experiments that was first issued in 1888.  Ornate bookplate of C. S. Nicholson on front attached endpaper who was the first owner.  Early signature of J. D. Pryce on the front free endpaper.  No other ownership marks and few signs of use.  At the end there is a 32 page insert of ads from the publisher dated January 1894.
