Pp. 13, 4 fine lithograph plates. Extract with backstrip but without original wrappers, sm 4to. Annales du Muséum d’Histoire Naturelle, volume 4, pp. 82-94. The large flowering plant genus Grewia is today placed by most authors in the mallow family, Malvaceae. Formally, it was placed in either the Tiliaceae or the Sparrmanniaceae. The genus was named by Linnaeus, in honor of the great English botanist Nehemiah Grew (1641-1712). The fine full page lithographic plates of Grewia are quite attractive.
