Pp. 228; 234; 132; 120, 64 plates (black-and-white photos, halftones, line-drawings of fishes, mollusks, invertebrates, botanical specimens, butterflies, and bats, etc.), some text-figures.  Publisher’s original tan printed wrappers, lettered in black on the spine and front cover, lg 8vo.  The subtitles of the volumes follow: Volume1 - Vertebrates; Volume 2 - Invertebrates (in part); Volume 3 - Botany and Geology; and Volume 4 - Invertebrates and additional vertebrates.  The front covers have the initials W. M. B., dated May 2, 1962; the volumes also bear the signature A. P. White at the top of the front wrappers.  Additionally, the front covers of three volumes have some underlining to the titles and the volume numbers and dates are written on them.  The contents of the volumes show no signs of use.
