Inscribed by the author on the front wrapper: “Mr. Gordon Alexander, with the compliments of Clifford H. Pope.” Gordon Alexander (1901-1973) was a distinguished ornithologist and orthopterist from the University of Colorado. In the 1930s he also wrote several papers on amphibians.
