Contemporary full tree-calf leather, spine with 5 raised bands lettered in gilt on a black morocco author/title label in one compartment and with elaborately blind-stamped gilt decorations in the other 5 compartments, the borders of the front and rear covers are decorated in lacey gilt, elaborated gilt turn-ins also border the French marbled endpapers, 8vo. A finely bound copy of an interesting work on all aspects of the pearl industry in the later 19th century. The tinted frontispiece illustration is in fine color facsimile and is expertly mounted (see photo). From the library of South African author, Morris J.
