From the series: Bulletin of the British Museum Natural History (Geology) volume 30, no. 2. This work presents a revision of seven species of Lower Miocene apes that belong to the Pongidae and the Hylobatidae. Each species is described in detail based on previously described material and on 368 new fossil specimens from Kenya. The diagnoses of existing species were emended to take into account the greater variability now seen to be present in each species (from the Synopsis, p. 85). Inscribed by the author on the front wrapper.
