Splendidly bound in three-quarter polished green morocco leather over pale green cloth boards that are ruled in gilt and with two gilt smews (ducks) stamped on the front board and a gilt woodcock on the back board, spine with five gilt-decorated raised bands, lettered in gilt in two compartments, and with gilt partridges and pheasants stamped in the other four compartments, English marbled endpapers, all page edges in gilt, in thick green cloth slipcase, illustrated with Philip Rickman signature in gilt on the front cover, lg folio (16 3/4 x 12 1/2 inches). This is no. 125 of a limited edition of 500 numbered copies signed by the author on the limitation page. This work celebrates the work of one of England’s greatest ever bird painters. There is a foreword by the Duke of Edinburgh celebrating “the Grand Old Man of bird painting.” Rickman died in 1982 at the age of 92.
