Shadle (1885–1963) was an American biologist noted for his research into porcupines and beavers. From 1919 until 1953, Shadle served as chairman of the biology department, and was instrumental in the advancement of science education at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Later from the research collection of American herpetologist Lauren E. Brown with his signature on the front free endpaper.
