The Antiquity of Man, in 2 volumes, complete
By Keith, Arthur
Pp. xxxii, xiv, 753; 266 text-figures (mostly line-drawings). Publisher’s original blue cloth, lettered in gilt on the spines, and with gilt insets of the Piltdown skull on the front covers, 8vo. This is Sir Arthur Keith’s analysis of fossils and theories of human evolution as of 1929. Keith supported the Piltdown skull discovery until it was discredited in the early 1950s. This resulted in a biased view of early human evolution in Britain up till the early 1950s. This is an attractive bright copy of this classic work with only slight edge wear to the cloth. No ownership marks.
