The volume was translated and edited by John Villiers, who added a glossary and notes. The Natural and Political History of the Kingdom of Siam is the most authoritative of the numerous French accounts of Siam during the last twenty years of the 17th century as a result of the establishment of formal diplomatic and commercial between Siam and France that led to a series of embassies during the 1680s between the courts of Versailles and Ayutthaya. No ownership marks and no signs of use.
