The scarce first edition of this important work in a fine leather binding. Gloyd's monograph is still an indispensable basic work on rattlesnakes today. The work is based on Gloyd's dissertation from 1937 and was published in an edition of only 1600 copies, which was quickly sold out. No ownership marks.

The black-and-white plates at the end of the volume are slightly wavy along their top edge only, the remainder of the text and binding are bright and clean, a tight and clean copy in very good condition.
