Publisher’s original one-quarter wine-red morocco leather, spine with four raised bands each set off by pairs of gilt panel lines, lettered in gilt in two compartments, over hand-marbled paper boards, top page edge in 24 carat gold leaf, 4to (11 x 8.5 inches). Each volume is housed in custom-made wine-red cloth slipcase. This is the Patrons’ Edition limited to 300 copies, each signed by the authors (Pritchard and Trebbau), the artist (Voltolina), and the two editors (Alder and Savitzky), this is copy no. 124. Accompanying the volume is a special set of 25 full size color plates from watercolor paintings by G. Voltolina. This work on turtles is an exceedingly detailed study with excellent illustrations - the work covers 23 turtle species in 7 families.
