This is Dr. Morbeck’s Ph.D. dissertation on a new study of the joint components of the Miocene hominoid forelimb fossils. From this this study she concluded that none of these fossils were brachiators (arm-swingers). From a morphological perspective their bones were more like extant monkeys rather than extant apes. No ownership marks and no signs of use.
