Austin (past Director of the Austin Ornithological Research Center in Wellfleet, Massachusetts and past Curator of Ornithology at the Florida Museum of Natural History), with his rectangular Japanese/English name-stamp seal on the front endpaper. The volume is warmly inscribed by Kuroda to Dr. O. L. Austin on front endpaper. Two-page typewritten letter from Kuroda, regarding his invitation to become co-author of the book, is laid in at the front.
