Le Hien Hoe was a lecturer at Hanoi University who researched the more than 200 species and subspecies in Northern Vietnam and their economic significance. This volume introduces the history of animal research in Northern Vietnam and 41 significant animals, mainly mammals. This is the first volume of two planned volumes. It is unknown if the second volume was published.
