Fossil Mammals from Burma in the American Museum of Natural History

Pp. 255-436; 64 text-figures (maps, line-drawings and black-and-white photos).  Publisher’s original gray printed wrappers, lg 8vo.  Bulletin of the American Museum of Natural History, volume 74, number 6.  This monograph documents the fossils collected for the AMNH by Barnum Brown in the later Eocene Pondaung Hills of Burma in 1925.  Colbert describes the fossil fauna dominated by anthracotheres in great detail.  This study also includes descriptions of the controversial primate genera Pondaungia and Amphipithecus from the same fauna.  This is a landmark study.
