Pp. xi, 236, 7 full page black-and-white photo-plates, 89 text-figures; pp. xi, 359, 6 full page black-and-white photo-plates, 79 text-figures.  Publisher’s original maroon cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine and with gilt motif of the British Museum seal on the front cover, front and rear covers with borders ruled in blind, sm 4to.  A detailed monograph on the octopus and its relatives.  There is a single library blind stamp on the bottom outer corner of each title page as well as a small white call number on the spine; aside from these minimal markings, this volume shows no signs of use – a beautiful copy.  Scarce work.
