This first edition was limited to 1200 numbered copies, this is no. 923. The original tissue guards with captions protect the fine color plates by Francis Lee Jacques. Name stamp of the Ron Sauey Memorial Library on rear endpaper and top page edge of each volume, no other institutional marks to the text or cloth binding. Ron Sauey was co-founder of the International Crane Foundation, Baraboo, Wisconsin.
