The first volume is edited by Louis Leakey covering the years of excavations between 1951-1961; it has chapters by P. M. Butler, M. Greenwood, G. G. Simpson, R. Lavocat, R. F. Ewer, G. Petter, R. L. Hay and M. D. Leakey. All volumes are the first edition except for Volume I which is the 1967 second printing. No ownership marks. Seldom offered as a set.
