Pp. 31 + 41 color plates by J. Fenwick Lansdowne.  Stiff green portfolio case, lettered in black on the spine and front cover, sm folio (14 1/4 x 10 1/4 inches).  This “Portfolio edition” presents the introductory chapters and abbreviated species accounts for the ‘Rails of the World.’  It contains all of the color plates of the first edition.  The family Rallidae includes the coots, rails, and gallinules of the worlds' marshlands.  Small name stamp Ron Sauey Memorial Library on verso of the final plate, small empty blank pocket on the inside of the portfolio case, no other institutional marks.  Sauey was co-founder of the International Crane Foundation, Baraboo, Wisconsin.
