His work on the anatomy of frogs, toads and salamanders has very detailed engravings. It was presented to the Royal Academy of Sciences in France in response to the following question: determine, using observations, and demonstrate, by anatomical preparations and exact drawings, the modifications that batrachian reptiles, such as frogs and salamanders, present in their skeleton and muscles when passing from the state of larva to the adult animal.
