Pp. 529; numerous full-page black-and-white photos, halftones, folding maps – some in envelopes bound in place, folding geological charts, and some text-figures (line-drawings).  Early red cloth, spine gilt-lettered and with gilt panel lines, thick lg 8vo (27.2 x 18.0 cm).  This is volume 2, on the geology and paleontology, of a three-volume set on the exploration and natural history of the Russian Arctic.  The geologists in charge of the expedition are O. T. Gronlie and Olaf Holtedahl.  This volume presents Parts 21-45 that covers all aspects of the geology and invertebrate paleontology (including trilobites, brachiopods and cephalopods) as well as the Paleozoic stratigraphy.  These parts were published between 1924 and 1930.  This volume is from the private research collection of University of Iowa paleontologist A. K. Miller with his pencil signature on the title page and his name in gilt at the bottom of the spine.  No other ownership marks.
