M. Bigelow; ‘Description of Forest Trees’ by J. M. Bigelow; ‘Description of the Cactaceae’ by J. Engelmann and J. M. Bigelow; ‘Descriptions of the General Botanical Collections’ by J. Torrey; and ‘Description of the Mosses and Liverworts’ by W. Sullivant.  Part VI – Zoology of the Expedition – contains a brief summary of the zoological collections and a large number of appendices presenting data of the expedition.  This is the Senate issue of the 33rd Congress, 2nd Session.  The title page and the blank rear-side of many plates and the folding map bear the ink stamp of ‘Boston University’ and a ‘Withdrawn’ stamp.  The volume shows few signs of use; it is offered at a reduced price to the library marks.

Condition Description Eight of the cactus plates show some browning and occasional foxing, twelve of the botanical plates show some light uniform tanning or foxing, the text is clean and free from foxing or browning, the binding is bright and clean; overall a tight copy in very good condition.
